By request, here is my handling of level eight. I show how to obtain most if not all of the protected goodies. Here are some notes (in roughly chronological order):

• The demo shows an efficient handling of the blue key room ambush and trap.
• I skip the area behind the locked door adjacent to this room, although I do show how to unlock the door. (It's not very hard to figure out. :-)
• In the room below the starting point, there are two shafts that contain powerups visible through grates. I show how to access one of these shafts in this demo. Access to the other shaft is behind the red door. See L8Boss for details.
• There is a tunnel behind a waterfall in the blue area, below the yellow key room. This tunnel leads to some desirable powerups (a Mega missile, Helix cannon, etc.), but it is blocked by a grate and a wall, both of which can be removed in a three-step process:
  1. I guide a missile through the grate and trip a switch far down the tunnel. This tunnel still leads nowhere, as my path is still blocked.
  2. Later, after having collected the yellow key, I am in a large room near the yellow door. The powerups are visible here, through a fence. In an ambush surrounding a pack of Smart mines, several secret doors open up. Behind one of these doors is a switch that removes a wall behind that fence.
  3. This allows me to send a guided missile to trip a switch behind the just-removed wall. The switch removes the wall that was blocking my path to the goodies.
• The demo shows how to obtain the yellow key with minimal damage by using the cloaking device found in the room above the yellow key.
• The demo shows how to remove the grate enclosing the 'bot generator outside the blue door. This makes it easy to use the cloaking device found there to thwart the aforementioned ambush. Note that you can get into and out of this small room by by going under the grate, but this will waste valuable cloaked time.
• After collecting the red key, you are trapped in the room by fences which appear in front of both exits. The demo shows how to remove these fences.
